I didn't realise Desmet was claiming that it was not orchestrated—that there was no intent—and I've listened to him a great deal, so I'm puzzled that I missed it. I understood him to be saying that the oligarchy/elite have been exploiting the phenomenon deliberately to prosecute their evil plans. Regardless though, is it a crucial question whether or not it's intentional? It doesn't bear much on the guilt of the top dogs does it? It hardly exonerates them if the supposed phenomenon Desmet describes has not been taken advantage of by design, does it?
